What's new

1.0.6 — 2026-08-27

  • One cursor, and it tells you where the player is. The ▶ marking the current line used to be one of several arrows on screen at once — the Start of Music row kept one lit permanently, the line you had selected for editing carried another, and none of them meant "playback is here". Now a single ▶ marks the player's position and nothing else does. It is grey while the track is idle and takes the accent colour while it runs, so a glance tells you whether what you are looking at is moving.
  • The cursor no longer disappears when you stop. It only followed the track while it was playing, and vanished on stop — so a file you had just loaded showed nothing at all, and a pause left it behind on a stale line. It now sits wherever playback would resume: on Start of Music for a freshly loaded track, and on the line you paused at otherwise.
  • No arrow where clicking would not have played. Pointing at a line's text used to reveal a ▶ beside it, but clicking the text selects that line for editing rather than seeking to it. The arrow now appears only when the pointer is actually on the button that seeks.
  • Buffered builds are told apart. The version in the header and the About box now carries the build number when you are running a build made between releases, so two builds of the same version are no longer identical on screen. A released build shows the plain version exactly as before.

1.0.5 — 2026-08-23

  • Every Open dialog reopens where you left off. Choosing an audio file, a lyrics file or a plain text file now starts in the folder you last used for that kind of file, instead of dropping you back in Downloads at every launch. Each of the three is remembered on its own — so a track picked from your music library and lyrics picked from a working folder each come back to their own place, and both survive a restart.
  • Help and update links now open in your language. The help button, and the What's new and Download links in the update notice, used to fall back to English for every language except French, Spanish and German. They now go straight to the page in the language the app is set to, wherever that page exists.

  • Lyric lines can no longer end up out of order. Whenever a timestamp changes - stamped, nudged, or typed - LRC Editor moves any neighbouring line that would now be out of sequence, so a player never jumps backwards mid-song. Until now only the lines below the one you touched were checked, so re-stamping a line earlier could leave the line above it stranded after it.
  • Opening an .lrc written by another editor now repairs any lines that are already out of sequence, and tells you it has. The file is only marked as changed - nothing is written until you save, so you can close without saving to keep the original exactly as it was.
  • Fixed a case where correcting a timestamp next to lines that aren't synced yet could silently reset a timed line to zero, losing that stamp.
  • Exporting the lyrics as text now opens in the folder of the .lrc you're editing, already named after it, instead of a generic filename.
